Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) is the UK’s leading business organisation, and is the largest member-led business organisation in the country with approximately 200,000 members nationwide. All members of the FSB have their own small business and employ between 1 and 200 employees, all working to support their local economies. The FSB is primarily a lobbying organisation and exists to protect and promote the interest of small businesses and the self-employed. It represents members’ interest through lobbying every level of government within every part of the UK. The FSB also provides a number of Member Services which offer a wide range of high quality, good value business services to members of the FSB. Lobbying is led by the FSB Press and Parliamentary Office in Westminster and will apply pressure on MPs, Government and Whitehall to ensure that the FSB, and small businesses, viewpoint is delivered to the media. This is complemented by Press and Parliamentary Offices in Glasgow, Cardiff and Belfast, who in turn will lobby the devolved assemblies. Each region will work alongside local members to further FSB influence at a local and regional level. The FSB Member Services Team is committed to delivering a wide range of high quality, good value business services to members of the FSB. See the full range of FSB benefits The Wessex Region within the FSB has 10,500 members and is the largest of the 33 FSB regions in the United Kingdom. The region covers the whole of Hampshire, the Isle of Wight and Dorset. It consists of 7 Branches all with elected member representation, and each branch will represent members locally on small business issues, and organise and host a range of business, social and networking events. FSB EVENTS
The FSB Wessex Region will be celebrating our Real Life Entrepreneurs at a launch event on Tuesday 6th December at Winchester University, starting from 6 pm.Voice of Business Briefing with The Beermat Entrepreneur Michael Southon. We are proud to host an evening with the ‘Beermat Entrepreneur' Michael Southon. Michael is author of The Beermat Entrepreneur series of books as well as a columnist on the Financial Times, and a successful Business Mentor. As the key note speaker, Mike's presentation will focus on ‘Championing the UK's Real-Life Entrepreneurs'™ and he will be sharing the secrets of sales success to attract more customers and increase sales per person, helping people to be more creative and entrepreneurial, and to be more effective at sales.The evening will also involve some short presentations from some of our members relating to their individual successes, and a brief update on key FSB services. There will be ample time for informal networking with other businesses and light refreshments on offer. The evening is FREE to all members and their guests, however places will be limited.
